Motor oil is, hands down, the most important fluid in your vehicle’s engine. Oil provides essential lubrication for your engine’s many moving parts, preventing damage from friction and heat.
But over time, oil becomes contaminated from dirt, dust and combustion by-products, such as carbon and acidic gasses. The oil itself also goes through chemical changes as it’s exposed to air and heat — a process called oxidation. All of this leads to the formation of solid oil particles, commonly known as sludge, that can build inside your engine.
Over time, these deposits can restrict oil flow. reducing efficiency and engine performance. Parts can even become damaged, which is why it’s important to change your oil regularly — typically between 3,000 and 5,000 miles, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendation and the type of oil you use.
Though regular oil changes are critical, it’s important to note that any deposits your engine has accumulated won’t drain out with old oil. That’s where Sea Foam can help.
Add 1 ounce of Sea Foam Motor Treatment per quart of oil to your crankcase about 100 to 300 miles before an oil and filter change. Then drive your vehicle normally until it’s time to change the oil. While you drive, Sea Foam will work to dissolve harmful oil residues and deposits and clean your pistons, rings, and oil passageways. It will also quiet any engine noise by cleaning lifters, timing chain tensioners, and actuators. When the driving is done, simply change your oil as you normally would.
SEA FOAM MOTOR TREATMENT cleans harmful residues & deposits that can restrict oil flow & engine lubrication.
