Can I put Sea Foam in fuel that was previously treated with Star tron enzime fuel treatment? [SOLVED]
Can I put Sea Foam in fuel that was previously treated with Star tron enzime fuel treatment? I have a four stroke Yamaha outboard motor. I may have an injector issue. I’m hoping for a quick easy fix!
Good question, Patrick. Yes, you can add Sea Foam Motor Treatment (or Marine PRO) to a fuel tank that already has a StarTron fuel treatment in it. It’s safe and effective when mixed with other fuel additives.
Here’s what I’d do:
Wait until you have a low tank of fuel (1-3 gallons). Add a full can of Sea Foam to the fuel. Run your boat at least 20 minutes if you can (just don’t run out of gas!), and don’t be afraid to run it hard. Then, refill your fuel tank as normal.
The #1 cause marine engine problems is heavier suspended fuel gum and petroleum varnish that restricts fuel passageways. The most important thing Sea Foam does is liquefy and clear away sticky gum and varnish restrictions from critical engine areas (including injectors) so the engine can go back to starting fast and running strong.
Let us know what happens!
