Can Sea Foam be added to 2 year old gas in vehicle? [SOLVED]
Can it be added to 2 year old gas in vehicle?
Thanks for the question!
The short answer is yes, Sea Foam can be added to two-year-old gas. As you run the vehicle, it’ll work to clean any fuel residues that formed while it sat.
Note: Sea Foam won’t “restore” old fuel. It will reliquefy any fuel residues or deposits that formed while the vehicle sat, and prevent the fuel from degrading any further.
Here are a few additional thoughts. There are two things you’ll want to do with your vehicle: 1) use up the old fuel (or drain it), and 2) clean up the fuel system from any fuel residues and varnish that formed while the vehicle was sitting.
Two-year-old fuel should start up just fine. If you’re going to be using the vehicle frequently, drive it until you’re at about ¼ tank of gas, add an entire 16 oz can of High Mileage, and drive it until almost empty before refueling with fresh fuel. If you’re not going to be using it in the near future, drain the old fuel, add a can of High Mileage with 2-4 gallons of fresh gas, and drive it until almost empty.
The high concentration of High Mileage will do a good (and fast) job cleaning.
