Do I have to drain the gas tank on a lawnmower that been sitting for six months? It’s a Briggs & Stratton.

Thanks for the question. Fresh fuel is always best. That said, things should be fine after only six months. I’d add some Sea Foam to the fuel that’s in the tank (2+ ounces of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel). That will clean any residues or varnish formed while the mower was sitting.
If you want to play it safe, you can drain the fuel and gradually use it up in your car or truck’s tank. Up to you.
Either way, I’d add 2 ounces of Sea Foam Motor Treatment per gallon of fuel in the tank. That’ll do a good job cleaning things up for the summer season.
