I have a 2013 RAV4. How much Sea Foam should I add to the gas tank and in my crankcase?

In the gas tank, our general rule of thumb is to add 1 ounce per gallon of fuel for routine maintenance. That said, it works very well to add a higher concentration to clean your fuel system. Here’s what I’d do:
- Wait until you have a low tank of fuel (1/8 tank or so)
- Add a full can (16 oz) of Sea Foam Motor Treatment or Sea Foam High Mileage
- Drive until almost empty (at least 20 miles)
- Refill with fresh fuel and drive as usual
The high concentration works very well to clean and is the best way to use a can of Sea Foam.
In oil, add 1 oz per quart of oil in the crankcase. Sea Foam works in oil to reliquefy residues so they can be drained away with the old oil. We recommend adding it 100-300 miles before your next oil change.
Thanks for the question Jim and let us know what you think!
