Is adding too much High Mileage to my fuel a bad thing? [SOLVED]
I have 2009 G6 GT 3.5 and was wondering if adding too much of the High Mileage Motor Treament to my fuel is a bad thing? It’s also a 16 gal tank. I bought it and had like slightly less than a quarter left in my tank then added 5 gallons and maybe like 1/4 of the treatment.
Great question, Alberto. We get asked about this a lot!
No, it’s not bad to add a lot of High Mileage to your fuel. In fact, a high concentration works much better and faster than a low concentration. High Mileage is made with 100% safe petroleum cleaning and lubricating ingredients, so it’s okay to add a lot to fuel.
I like to wait until I have a low tank of fuel (1/8 of a tank or so) and add an entire 16 oz can of High Mileage to the fuel. Then, I drive it until almost empty before refueling. That works very well to clean fuel residues and deposits from the entire fuel system.
I’d wait until your tank is low and add the rest of the High Mileage, drive it until almost empty, and then refill from there and drive it normally.
