That’s a great question. Sea Foam is not an oil additive in the sense that it “adds” anything to oil. There are many products that do that, but Sea Foam isn’t anything like that. Sea Foam will help your oil system by cleaning old heavy oil residue and deposits that build up over time in your engine crankcase. It works in the oil to clean and liquefy the sticky buildup back into the liquid oil phase so all that old oil crud can drain away when you change your oil. If you use it every oil interval, Sea Foam will continue to clean your oil crankcase as you add miles, helping your engine run cleaner and last longer.
