Sea Foam for cleaning severe oil sludge [SOLVED]
1 Answers
Can Sea Foam be used as a crankcase flush at full strength without harming the bearings? Have a motor with severe gunk and sludge buildup due to previous owner not doing oil changes on time. Crusty looking stuff. Pulled valve covers and was shocked.

Thanks for the question, Richard. My encouragement is to add 1.5 ounces per quart every interval and stick with it. It’s better to progressively remove the heavier buildup over several intervals than to flush it out in a hurry. If you’re asking whether it’s OK to run a lot of Sea Foam in the crankcase without oil, don’t try it! Hope this helps!
