Sea Foam Spray is safe for catalytic converters and O2 sensors [SOLVED]
I have read articles that upper engine treatment, like Sea Foam Spray, can clog or damage the catalytic converter, other exhaust components, and O2 sensors. Is this true?
Hey Ryan – thanks for the question! We get lots of questions about O2 sensors and catalytic converters. Sea Foam Spray is made from 100% safe petroleum cleaning and lubricating ingredients, so it can’t harm sensors, the catalytic converter, or anything else. Sea Foam Spray is used up in the combustion chamber so it’s all vaporized with the hot exhaust as everything is sent toward the tailpipe.
I just used seafoam with a ten gallon tank to clean the fuel injectors etc, down to a near empty tank. Should I wait a bit before using a catalytic cleaner?
Hi Paul – no need to wait. Go ahead and use the catalytic cleaner.
