Sea Foam to unplug sending unit and oil sludge [SOLVED]
1 Answers
I have an 87 Monte Carlo SS 305 V8. It has been sitting for at least 15 years. I recently got it running with solid oil pressure (30-40 psi). After the first drive, pressure has now dropped. Is it possible that loosened sludge plugged the sending unit? And if so, will Sea Foam help clean out and correct my problem?

It is entirely possible. I would recommend adding 1 ounce of Sea Foam High Mileage per quart of engine oil (totaling about 5 ounces). Then, drive for 100-300 miles and change the engine oil.
When changing the engine oil, I recommend a premium oil filter (not a house brand – don’t “cheap out” on a filter). I’d also use 5 quarts of a well known oil (not a house brand).
