HOW TO USE SEA FOAM FOR ENGINE STORAGE AND STABILIZING FUEL
BENEFITS
DIRECTIONS
SUMMARY
Sea Foam Motor Treatment works to stabilize stored fuel up to 2 years. Adding Sea Foam to stored tanks helps fuel resist evaporation, preserves ignition vapors, adds protective lubricity, and prevents the formation of gum and varnish in fuel systems. Gum and varnish residues are the most common cause of poor engine function. Using Sea Foam in stored fuel will help your engines start easier and last longer.
what is a fuel stabilizer and what does it do?
RELATED QUESTIONS
I currently have Sea Foam auto/marine/fleet in my boat with about 50 gallons of fuel. Is it safe to add Sea Foam Marine Pro? I would like to top off my 86-gallon tank before winter. I use Non-ethanol fuel and would like to top it off for winter storage.
Thanks for the question!
Yes, you can absolutely add Marine PRO to your boat’s fuel tank and mix it with Sea Foam Motor Treatment. Add enough Marine PRO to make sure there’s at least 1 oz of Marine PRO per gallon of new fuel. (1 oz per gallon is the recommended minimum for storage…it’s safe to add more, so don’t worry about being precise or about how much Sea Foam Motor Treatment is already in there).
Hi, can Sea Foam Motor Treatment clean the combustion chamber of a Champion generator model 201322? Thank you very much !!!!!!!!
Thanks for the question Vance! Yes, Sea Foam Motor Treatment added to the fuel will clean the combustion chamber on your Champion generator. It’s safe and effective in that model. You can use Sea Foam in any gas engine.
For cleaning, it works best to add a high concentration of Sea Foam to the fuel. Adding 8oz to 1-2 gallons of fuel works great for this.
Hope that helps and let me know if there’s anything else!

Sea Foam
I have a remanufactured engine (supposedly) on my engine stand, i have found sludge in the oil gallies and oil pressure relief valves. My engine is 90% complete and cannot disassemble… i have used an electric drill and tool to prime the pump (distributor port). i have the engine primed but the new oil is cloudy after draining…. My question is; what do you recommend i use as an additive to prime my engine again… I was gonna add more straight weight 30 oil and Seafoam and run the prime (drill) again to try and clean the oil gallies better before i start the engine and run at temp ? rpm…. By the way, the engine builder blamed the sludge on the hot tank chemicals hes not able to use any longer and the sludge is only a small amount…. Sucks for sure
Will Sea Foam clean old gasoline and restore its function?
Thanks for the question, Paul!
No, unfortunately it won’t. It’s best to drain any old, degraded fuel from the tank.
If added to fresh fuel, Sea Foam will preserve its volatility and prevent it from degrading.
If you do have old fuel, it will reliquefy any varnish or residue that has formed. If you’ve got a vehicle or engine with old gasoline in it and you can’t drain all of it, add some Sea Foam and fresh fuel. A full 16oz can added to a gallon of fresh fuel is a good start. Run that through the engine and it will clean the entire fuel system.
Hope that helps and let us know if there’s anything else!
Will a can of Sea Foam that has been opened go bad? If so after how long?
