You can add the Sea Foam at any time, so that would work. It’s safe to run in there for 3,000 miles.

That said, we recommend adding it 100-300 miles before you change your oil.  That way, it has time to circulate and clean, and then you can drain away all the reliquefied residues with the old oil.

Good question, John. Run the mower for at least 1 hour before changing the oil. That will give it plenty of time to circulate and clean. It doesn’t hurt, though, to leave it in for longer than that.
