HOW TO FIX A QUAD OR ATV THAT IS RUNNING ROUGH

CLEAR UP YOUR QUAD’S ENGINE

Hard starting, rough idling and poor performance can plague any ATV after years of use. This is especially true if your machine sits unused for long periods of time or is run with old fuel or poor fuel blends.

Whether your quad is carbureted or fuel injected, two stroke or four stroke, harmful deposits can, over time, gum up your fuel system and cause problems.

The good news is that these issues can be easily corrected and prevented, so you can hit the trails when you want, with peace of mind that your machine will perform as it should.

sea foam motor treatment

CLEANS and prevents harmful fuel residues that often cause engine problems

Consistent maintenance is essential for keeping small engines running at their best. Adding Sea Foam Motor Treatment to fuel is an easy way to prevent harmful fuel residues that often cause small engine problems.

HOW TO FIX iT

GUM AND VARNISH PROBLEMS
IN HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS

If your quad is hard to start or running rough (and you’ve already gone through the basics like checking the fuel filter, battery, spark plug, and air filter), then the fuel system is a likely culprit. Sea Foam Motor Treatment can be used to clean harmful fuel gum and varnish residues that cause dirty fuel systems, lubricate upper engine parts, and stabilize fuel when your ATV is not in use.

Before anything, it’s a good idea to clean your engine to ensure it is free of dirt and debris that could cause additional problems. Then, add a whole can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to a low tank of fuel and drive your quad for a few miles to get it working through the fuel passageways. After that, shut it down and let it sit overnight to hot soak and clean. After you fire it up and run it again, you can add fresh fuel to the tank. Then operate your quad as you normally would.

It’s wise to do this a couple of times a year to make sure your fuel system is clear harmful residue buildup that can clog carb jets and fuel injectors. And remember, Sea Foam is petroleum-based and will not harm your fuel system. The more you add, the better it works.

If you store your quad for a portion of the year, run the tank as low as you can on your final ride, then add a full can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment while the engine is still running. After a minute or two, shut it down. Then pull the spark plugs and add a shot or two of Sea Foam Spray to lubricate the cylinder cavities. Reinstall the plugs and you’re set until the next season.

how sea foam helps prevent engine problems in powersports

Most small engine problems are fuel varnish problems, not engine problems.
Clean the fuel varnish problem and you fix the engine. Sea Foam works fast to clean and prevent fuel gum and varnish. Use Sea Foam and fresh gas (never use old gas) if you want your engine and fuel system to stay clean so it can start faster, run smoother, and last longer without problems.
