Best additive for gas tank to clean engine and carburetor [SOLVED]
I have a 1984 Ford F250 and the previous owner let it sit for several years. When I start to accelerate it try’s to die and sometimes does. What is the best additive for the gas tank that will help with the debris in the tank and help clean the engine, carburetor, lines etc?
Thanks for the question, Laura!
Sea Foam High Mileage in the gas tank will clean up any fuel residue or deposits throughout the entire fuel system.
Here’s what I’d do: drain any old fuel in the tank. Add 3-4 gallons of fresh fuel and two cans of Sea Foam High Mileage. Drive it until just about empty before refueling. The high cleaning concentration will do a great job cleaning up the fuel system.
In addition, you could apply Sea Foam Spray through the carb throat. Sea Foam Spray delivers a high cleaning concentration to carburetor throttle valves, intake runners and valves, and chamber areas. Directions here:
