Can I add isopropyl alcohol and Sea Foam for water in my mower gas tank? [SOLVED]
I added fuel to my mower after it had rained & got water mixed with it. My mower will not crank. I have added Seafoam & a couple of other things & it tries to start but hasn’t yet. Will isopropyl alcohol help since I already added other stuff?
Thanks for the question, Grear. No treatment has the ability to remove water from fuel. Sea Foam will help if there’s a small amount of water, but if you have water contamination in your tank, it’s best to remove all the fuel and start fresh.
If you think you have a small amount of water, try using the isopropyl alcohol. Isopropyl works great to solubilize small amounts of water into the larger gasoline fuel phase, making it easier to burn the water through the engine. It’s okay to add isopropyl alcohol after adding other additives.
