Do I have to drain transmission fluid after adding Trans Tune? [SOLVED]
So i add a 16 ounce can of Sea Foam Trans Tune to my tranny, I drive it for roughly 30 miles and then I drain my fluid ? Is this the recommended procedure? So after adding this I have to drain my fluid?
Good question, Vincent.
The short answer: you do not have to drain the fluid after adding Trans Tune. If you are adding Trans Tune shortly before a scheduled transmission fluid change, we recommend driving at least 30 miles with the Trans Tune in the transmission so it has a chance to circulate and clean. Otherwise, you can leave it in there until your next scheduled fluid change.
There are two ways that people use Trans Tune: as a pre-flush cleaner, and as a fluid conditioner/problem solver.
If you’d like to clean things up and perform a pre-flush before you change your fluid, add a 16 ounce can of Trans Tune and drive at least 30 miles. Then, change the fluid.
If you are adding Trans Tune as a problem solver or fluid conditioner, just add the 16 ounce can and leave it in there until your next scheduled fluid change. The Trans Tune will condition the transmission fluid and continue to clean and prevent residue and varnish from forming. It’s safe to leave in there for the life of the fluid.
Hope that helps!
