How long can I leave Sea Foam in the fuel tank before driving? [SOLVED]
Asked by Nathan Z. In Florida
I’ll be adding two cans to my 2009 Tacoma to get a good cleaning but wanted to ask if it’s ok if I add the cans in the morning and then proceeded to start the vehicle and drive later in the evening until I need fuel. Does it matter how long in the day the product sits in the fuel tank before having to drive it?
It does not matter how long Sea Foam sits in the tank. What does matter is how much of the Sea Foam-treated fuel is run through the fuel system. You’ll want to run as much of that fuel through as possible. It sounds like you’re on track with your plan to drive until needing fuel!
Here’s what I like to do:
Wait until you have a low tank of fuel (1/4 tank or less). Add a can or two of Sea Foam Motor Treatment. 2 cans in a Tacoma would work great at that level. Then, drive until almost empty before refueling. The high concentration of Sea Foam will do a great job cleaning. It’s a good way to get the most out of a can.
