Try this: When the tank is low, add a full can of Sea Foam to the fuel and let the engine run for at least 10 minutes to draw the Sea Foam cleaning concentration through the fuel system and into the upper engine. Then shut it off for a bit to soak. Can be 30 minutes to overnight – the longer, the better. If the acceleration issue is caused by varnish, Sea Foam will progressively clear up the varnish as you run the engine. Should get better as you through the tank fuel!
