How much Sea Foam Spray should I spray into the spark plug hole when winterizing an outboard? [SOLVED]
I want to use the spray in my Mercury outboard motor to winterize the motor. I’m supposed to remove the two spark plugs and spray one ounce of the Sea Foam into each spark plug hole. How long do I spray to give one ounce?
Thanks for the question, Bill. I’d use about a 2-3 second burst. Then, with the ignition off or the battery disconnected, turn the engine over by hand 2 full rotations (do not use a starter). If the engine has a pull start, with the ignition off or the battery disconnected pull the rope slowly twice.
