How much Sea Foam to clean a snowblower carburetor? [SOLVED]
How much Sea Foam do I add to a snowblower fuel tank? How long do I need to run the engine to clean the carburetor?
Great question, Greg.
If you’re adding Sea Foam to every tank for general maintenance/stabilizing fuel, add 1-2 oz of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel.
However, the more Sea Foam you add to fuel, the better it cleans. So for cleaning a carburetor, here’s what I’d recommend:
Wait until you have a low tank of fuel. Add a high concentration of Sea Foam (1:2 ratio of Sea Foam to fuel). Then, run the engine for at least ten minutes. If your snowblower is running rough or has a problem you’re trying to fix, let it soak overnight and then run it again in the morning for a few minutes. Then, add 1-2 ounces of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel when you fill up again. If you add it to every tank, Sea Foam will keep the carb clean as it runs, as well as stabilize the fuel and help prevent gum and varnish buildup.
Hope that helps!
