Is Sea Foam Spray good for soaking cylinders? [SOLVED]
I have a 3.8 v6 engine,(1995 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe), that has not been started for 10 years. It has been recommended to remove spark plugs and shoot some oil into cylinders. Is Sea Foam Spray Top Engine Cleaner and Lube a good choice for this application?
Thanks for the question! Yes, Sea Foam Spray through the spark plug hole works very well for soaking cylinders/rings. Here’s a quick overview on how to do it, as well as a detailed thread on our site with more questions and answers…
Remove the spark plugs and apply Sea Foam Spray into each cylinder cavity through the plug hole (about 3 seconds per cylinder). Let the engine sit and soak up to 3 days (if you have the time). Be sure to crank the engine once a day to loosen the rings. You can also add a little more Sea Foam Spray to each cylinder each day as it sits.
