Mow much Sea Foam in fresh gas for a clogged carburetor? [SOLVED]

1 Answers

Hello, I have an inverter generator that won’t start. I left untreated fuel in it without running monthly so I think I have a clogged carburetor. I drained all the old fuel out of the tank and carburetor. How much Sea Foam should I add to fresh gas before starting it? (The tank is 1 gallon).
Thank you!

Hey Rich – thanks for the question! It sounds like you’re on the right path! Draining the old fuel is a good first step.

What you’ll want to do is run a high concentration of Sea Foam through your generator.

Here’s what I’d recommend: add 4 ounces of Sea Foam to 8 ounces of gasoline (a 1:2 ratio). Then, crank/prime/rope-pull the engine to draw the cleaning mix into the carburetor. Let the engine soak overnight, and then give it a try.

Once it’s running, the Sea Foam will continue to dissolve residues as it is drawn through the carburetor. Add fresh fuel when you’re ready to run it (and a couple more ounces of Sea Foam to stabilize it while not running).

Hope that helps!
