Toyota Tundra shutters when shifting [SOLVED]
I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra that shutters when it is shifting into 5th and 6th. Recently code P2714 came on stating solenoid D performance/stuck off. Could Trans Tune possibly help?
There is a TSB pertaining to some ’07-’10 Toyota Tundra models with the 5.7L engine that set the P2714 code. I’d check with your local dealership to see if the TSB pertains to your specific truck before continuing any repairs.
If the TSB mentioned does not apply to your truck, there are several possibilities for repair fixes that could help your truck. Fluid level, dirty solenoid, complete fluid exchange and complete transmission replacement are possibilities.
My recommendation is to check your fluid level and condition. If your fluid level and condition are acceptable, add a whole 16 ounce can of Sea Foam Trans Tune to your fluid. Drive for 30-60 miles and see if shift quality improves and check engine light no longer illuminates with code P2714. If it does not change, I recommend taking the vehicle to a reputable repair facility, transmission shop or dealership for diagnosis.
