What Sea Foam treatments for my 2013 Dodge Ram 4.7L? [SOLVED]
I just bought a 2013 Dodge Ram 4.7L second hand and would like to clean everything out. I’ve heard that Sea Foam is a 2-stroke motor cleaner and was wondering if this would be a good product for my truck.
Hi Cole. People often ask us what treatments we recommend for a recently acquired used car or truck. Additionally, whether 2- or 4-stroke never makes any difference.
Here’s our typical answer:
1. Add 2 cans of High Mileage to a low tank of fuel and drive at least 20 miles before adding more fuel. This creates a high cleaning concentration to clean fuel injectors.
2. Eyeball one-half can to the oil crankcase. This works to reliquefy harmful oil residue buildup that will drain away each time you change your oil (do every interval!).
3. Do two back-to-back Sea Foam Spray treatments though the intake. Sea Foam Spray is a powerful way to clean harmful carbon deposits from intake valves and chamber areas.
4. Add 1 can of Trans Tune down the transmission filler tube (where the ATF dipstick goes). Trans Tune will reliquefy oil fluid varnish from valve bodies and shift solenoids, helping the transmission shift smoother.
5. That’s it – enjoy your truck!
