When can I start using Sea Foam in a new truck? [SOLVED]
I have 20,000 miles on my new Honda Ridgeline. When can I start using Sea Foam?
Good question, John. There are two common reasons people use Sea Foam in a vehicle: to solve a problem, or as preventative maintenance. Sea Foam cleans fuel residues and deposits, which are often the cause of common engine problems (like rough idle, loss of power, loss of fuel efficiency, etc.).
In a newer vehicle, you can use Sea Foam as preventative maintenance to clean and prevent any fuel residues or deposits from forming. Adding a can every 3-5,000 miles will go a long ways to keep the fuel system clean and stay ahead of any problems. As a cleaner/preventative maintenance, you can start using Sea Foam whenever you’d like on a new vehicle.
You can also use it in your oil as preventative maintenance. Add 1 ounce of Sea Foam per quart of oil around 100-300 miles before you change it. That will reliquefy any oil residues or deposits and allow them to be drained away when you change your oil.
Hope that helps and let me know if there’s anything else!
