Will Sea Foam in the oil improve cylinder pressure? [SOLVED]
1 Answers
I have a 1975 Kawasaki Z1 900 that has 75,000 miles. I change oil on a regular basis and it runs well, however, my # 3 cylinder is at 115 compression and the other 3 are at 120.
I was wondering if putting Sea Foam in the oil would do anything to improve the compression by cleaning up the rings etc.

Thanks for the question Clancy. It’s definitely worth adding Sea Foam to your Kawasaki’s oil on a regular basis. The only way it will help cylinder 3 is if a piston ring restriction is causing the low compression. Sea Foam in oil will work to clean the residues that cause ring restrictions, allowing the rings to loosen back up and expand back to normal.
