When it’s time to get your boat out on the water, engine problems are the last thing you want to deal with. But because marine engines typically see infrequent or intermittent use and are exposed to high humidity, they are prone to a few fuel-related problems.
First, fuel degrades over time, leaving behind varnish and gum that can block carburetor ports, fuel injectors and other gas passageways. Today’s blended fuels, especially in wet environments, are also susceptible to separation, known as “phase” separation, which essentially causes fuel to split into two parts — a gasoline layer and an ethanol/water mixture. Even a small amount of water in your fuel system will cause all sorts of problems, including hard starting, rough running, loss of power, and damage caused by corrosion.
The good news is that these problems are largely preventable. Sea Foam Marine PRO is specially formulated to prevent these issues in all two- and four-stroke gasoline marine engines, both inboard and outboard. It will safely and effectively clean and lubricate the entire fuel system, protect against corrosion, reduce wear and stabilize fuel for up to two years.
HOW TO USE MARINE PRO IN BOAT FUEL
For regular fuel system maintenance, add 1 ounce of Marine PRO per 1.5 gallons of gasoline or two ounces per gallon to your two-stroke pre-mix. A whole can will treat up to 30 gallons.
To clean your engine, add 2 ounces or more per gallon of fuel to a low or partial tank. You can’t add too much — Marine PRO is made from petroleum-based cleaning and lubricating ingredients, contains no alcohol, and will not harm your engine.
You can also use 100% Marine PRO to prime marine fuel filters and add an once per gallon of gas for stabilizing fuel during storage.
Regular Marine PRO use will help your engine run stronger, longer and ensure you enjoy every moment of your time on the water.
