Would it be ok to add two full cans or maybe three cans to the 17 gallons of gas and run it all through my boat motor? [SOLVED]
My gas tank is almost full but I’d like to add sea foam marine as it is difficult to start my boat but it runs fine after it warms up. Would it be ok to add two full cans or maybe three cans to the 17 gallons of gas and run it all through?
Thanks for the question!
If fuel gum and varnish is causing the hard starting, Marine PRO can definitely help clean it up. For the best results, though, I’d wait until the tank is low rather than adding it to the full 17 gallons. Then you can just use a single can of Marine PRO to create a high cleaning concentration. If you don’t want to wait until the tank is low though, adding three cans and then running it will help clean up any gum and varnish while it runs.
Here’s what I’d do with one can:
- Run the tank down to about 1/4 tank or less
- Add 1 can of Marine PRO
- Run the boat for at least 20 minutes before refueling
The high concentration works much better and faster to clean gum and varnish from the fuel system. If gum and varnish is what’s causing the hard starting, this will give Marine PRO the best opportunity to clean it up.
Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
