SUMMARY
Pour Sea Foam in your fuel tank to clean and lubricate your entire fuel system. It works through fuel injectors and carburetors to remove harmful residues and deposits from fuel passageways, intake valves, pistons, and chamber areas.
For cleaning a gasoline or diesel fuel system, it’s safe to add more Sea Foam to fuel. In fact, the more Sea Foam you add to fuel, the better it cleans!
Made from petroleum ingredients, Sea Foam is safe and effective when used in all types of gasoline or diesel fuels and fuel blends. Sea Foam does NOT contain harsh detergent or abrasive chemicals that can harm your engine or fuel system components.

How much Sea Foam in full tank of fuel in 2006 Cadillac DTS?
Good question, Vic. For cleaning, I’d recommend waiting until the tank is low in your Cadillac before adding Sea Foam. That will let you create a high cleaning concentration that works faster and better than adding the same amount to a full tank.
Here’s what I’d do: wait until the tank is low (1/4 -1/8 tank), add the whole 16 oz can, and then drive for at least 10-20 miles before refueling. It’s safe to add a high concentration like that and it works very well for cleaning fuel residues and deposits.
For storage or preventative maintenance, add at least 1 ounce of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel in the tank.
I only used one can with my first treatment at 96k miles in my 2011 Camry today, Would it help to do a second treatment in a row with my next tank of gas? And possibly use two cans? I used high mileage.
Good question, Chelsea! We recommend adding Sea Foam to your gas tank every 3-5,000 miles, or once or twice a year. You can certainly add it more frequently, but doing one treatment in that time frame is plenty. High Mileage is a great choice as it’s a very good cleaner.
As far as how much High Mileage to use, here’s what I’d do: wait until the tank is low (1/4 -1/8 tank). Then, add the whole 16 oz can, and drive for at least 10-20 miles before refueling. It’s safe to add a high concentration like that and it works very well for cleaning fuel residues and deposits. By waiting until the tank is low, you can create a high cleaning concentration without having to use two cans.
Can you use Sea Foam in a 2020 hybrid engine?
Yes, you can use Sea Foam in a 2020 hybrid engine. Just follow the directions on the can. Also, check out the article on our site on using Sea Foam in hybrid vehicles. It explains some of the specific things that hybrid vehicles encounter, as well as how Sea Foam works in them:

How often should I use Sea Foam in a 4 stroke motorbike?
Good question, Dan.
Here’s what I’d do: once a year, wait until you have a low tank of fuel and add a high concentration of Sea Foam Motor Treatment (up to a 2:1 ratio of gas to Sea Foam. 32 oz of fuel and 16 oz of Sea Foam). Then, ride it until about empty before refueling. The high concentration will do a great job cleaning any fuel residue or deposits.
If it’s sitting for a while between uses, you could add 1 oz of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel to every tank. That will prevent gum and varnish from forming while it sits, as well as preserve ignition vapors and prevent the fuel from degrading.
How much Sea Foam do I add for an 11.9 gallon fuel tank?
Thanks for the question! It depends on what you’re trying to accomplish by adding Sea Foam.
For cleaning, I like to wait until the tank is low (1/4 -1/8 tank), add the whole 16 oz can, and then drive for at least 10-20 miles before refueling. It’s safe to add a high concentration like that and it works very well for cleaning fuel residues and deposits. Do that every 3,000-5,000 miles and you’ll keep your fuel system and critical engine areas clean. (For boats/tractors/anything else, do it at least once per season).
That’s the best way to get the most out of a can of Sea Foam.
If you’re storing a vehicle/fuel/fuel tank, add 1 ounce of Sea Foam per gallon
