SUMMARY
Sea Foam Motor Treatment can be used in every type of gasoline or diesel engine. When added to an engine’s oil crankcase, Sea Foam Motor Treatment works to clean and liquefy heavier oil deposits, so the residues will drain away when the oil is changed. Sea Foam cleans internal engine parts, prevents sludge and other harmful oil formations.

RELATED QUESTIONS
I put 16oz of Sea Foam in my car, will it damage anything?
Thanks for the question, Robert. Did you put it in the gas tank, or oil crankcase?
In the gas tank, a full 16 oz can is just fine and in fact will work very well to clean the entire fuel system. A high concentration of Sea Foam in gas will work better and faster than a low concentration. I like to add a full 16 oz can to 1/8 tank of gas and run it until almost empty before refueling. Sea Foam Motor Treatment is made with 100% safe petroleum ingredients that can’t harm engine parts or components.
In the oil, do not exceed 1 oz of Sea Foam per quart of oil. If you added 16 oz of Sea Foam to a 5 quart oil system, you’ll want to change the oil.
Is it good to use High Mileage Sea Foam in my 2005 Harley CVO oil?
Thanks for the question, John. Yes, you can use High Mileage in your Harley’s CVO oil. It’s safe and effective and will clean up oil residues and deposits. Just follow the directions on the can. High Mileage is specially formulated to clean stubborn residues, so it’s a good option for older engines.
Hope that helps and let me know if there’s anything else!
Best,
Conner
Sea Foam
I literally just changed my oil 50 miles ago, but I still have some rattling lifters or something going on in there and I would like to treat it. Can I put the Sea Foam in and just keep an eye on the oil and change it when it’s time to change it or does it have to be changed immediately after? Obviously, if it helps the rattling, I can go ahead and change it because it means it broke something loose but if you don’t, I don’t wanna spend any extra money on the oil if I don’t have to.
Will Sea Foam work if I pour it into the crankcase on a diesel engine?
I have a can of Sea Foam that I bought 2 or 3 years ago. Is it still good to use or does it have a lifespan?
