Adding Sea Foam to a 2-cycle oil tank – Mercury outboard [SOLVED]
Asked by Steve B. In Florida
Can I add Sea Foam to my 2-cycle oil reservoir for my Mercury 115hp outboard engine? I want to help clean the oil and lines before it gets mixed with the fuel.
Yes, you can definitely add Sea Foam to a 2-cycle outboard’s oil-injection tank. It will work great to reliquefy any heavy oil varnish that settles at the bottom of the tank and causes flow restrictions. Keep in mind that Sea Foam is a petroleum lubricating oil and will not alter the performance of your 2-cycle oil. Just add 1 to 1.5 ounces per quart of oil in the tank. You can also use Marine PRO!
