How much Sea Foam for cleaning in a 3 gallon motorcycle tank [SOLVED]
I have a 3 gallon tank on my motorcycle running 91 octane. What would be the recommended amount of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to use and what process would you recommend for a cleaning application?
Good question, Chris.
Here’s what I’d recommend for a cleaning dosage: simply add a full 16 oz can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to at least half a tank of fuel (or add it right before you fill up). Then, run it until almost empty before refueling. That gives the Sea Foam time to work through the entire fuel system. In a 3-gallon tank, the high concentration of Sea Foam will work quickly and very well to clean.
Sea Foam is made with 100% safe petroleum cleaning and lubricating ingredients (no harsh chemicals), so it’s safe to use a high concentration like that in a small tank of fuel. It’s the best way to get the most out of a can of Sea Foam.
For more routine preventative maintenance use, follow the instructions on the can and add 1 ounce of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel.
You can use the same high concentration method for other types of engine as well.
Hope that helps!
