How much Sea Foam in oil before and after changing it [SOLVED]
Hi, Please tell me how much Sea Foam I should add to the engine oil for a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 liters with 65,000 miles. How much should I add to the engine oil again after changing the oil? Thank you!
Hi Mohammadali,
Thanks for the question!
When you are 100-300 miles from your next oil change, add 5 ounces of Sea Foam to the engine oil (about 1 ounce of Sea Foam per quart of oil).
We recommend adding Sea Foam at that time because it will clean residues and deposits from the oil crankcase and allow them to be drained away with the old oil.
Here’s how I would think about adding Sea Foam to fresh oil:
Remember that the Sea Foam will turn residues and deposits back into their liquid form, and send them back into the oil. That can make the oil dirty and require an oil change sooner than originally scheduled.
If you know your oil crankcase is pretty dirty, I would wait until you are 100-300 from your next oil change to add it.
If you know your oil crankcase is clean, go ahead and add the Sea Foam with the fresh oil. It will do a great job making sure new deposits don’t form, and add lubrication.
Use the same amount of Sea Foam (5 ounces).
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
