How much Sea Foam to clean 2002 Chevy Tahoe fuel system? [SOLVED]

Is it safe to add 3 cans of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to a 26 gallon tank to clean a neglected fuel system on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3l Vortec engine with 184,000 miles?

Will 3 cans be enough to clean the fuel system or should I add more?

Great question, Arnold. You’re on the right track.

It’s safe to add a large amount of Sea Foam for cleaning. You could definitely add 3 cans to a 26 gallon tank. Another idea is to add one can to a low amount of fuel. That way you can create a high cleaning concentration with just one can.

Here’s what I’d do: wait until your tank is low (1/8 tank or so) and add a full can of Sea Foam to the gas tank. Then, drive until almost empty before refueling. That gives the treated fuel time to run through the fuel system and clean.

If you don’t want to drive around on 1/8 of a tank, add two cans to a ¼ tank. Or, we do have a 20oz Truck & SUV size (available at most auto parts stores) that would work great for adding to a ¼ tank. Your call!

Hope that helps!!
