How to clean clogged pilot jets in your motorcycle [SOLVED]
Asked by Les M. In Alabama
Will Sea Foam clean clogged pilot jets by running through motorcycle gas tank? Bike is a Honda Shadow 1100 Sabre sits for weeks at a time. One problem is the engine dies if I give it gas without the choke. There is also some throttle hesitation during normal riding.
Thanks for the question Les. Here’s what I would do: I would pour a whole can of Sea Foam into a partial tank, start and run the engine for at least 8 minutes to allow the Sea Foam to work through the carburetor passageways, then shut it off and let it sit overnight. Start it back up and let it run for 5 minutes to heat up, then ride it a bit. Things should get better as you go… plus the remaining Sea Foam concentration in the tank will continue to clean the jets as you work through the fuel. Easy!
