How to treat and clean an engine that has been sitting [SOLVED]

My Ford Windstar van has five year old gas in the tank. I siphoned out all I could but there is a gallon or two of fuel left in the tank. What is the best Sea Foam mixture to use and should I add new fuel before adding the Sea Foam?

That’s a great question Perry. What I would do: To bring back fuel volatility (ignition vapor), I would add three gallons of fresh fuel and two cans of Sea Foam. As the van engine runs, the Sea Foam will reliquefy the heavy fuel gum (old fuel) back into the new fuel mass, making it easier for the fuel to burn while cleaning up the fuel system. Once you’ve burned through the new gas mix, add more fresh gas – the engine should run better as you go. Also be sure to replace the fuel filter and don’t hesitate to extend the cleaning with more Sea Foam.
