I have a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad, with a WET Clutch, can I add Seafoam to oil before an oil change? What benefits can I expect to the Clutch from adding Seafoam? Is there any thing special I should do?How soon should I change the oil after adding it?

Yes, you can use Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the oil of your 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad with a wet clutch. Sea Foam is petroleum-based and can be used in for wet clutch oil systems when used at the recommended ratio. Add 1 ounce of Sea Foam per quart of oil, and do not exceed that amount. Then ride normally for about 100–300 miles before changing the oil.

Sea Foam works to reliquefy oil residues and deposits in the crankcase. In a wet clutch system, that can help clean sticky oil residues from the clutch components and oil passages. If deposits are contributing to clutch sticking or poor engagement, cleaning them up may help the clutch operate more smoothly.

There’s nothing special you need to do beyond using the correct ratio and changing the oil afterward. I would not add extra Sea Foam in an attempt to clean the clutch faster—a normal 1 oz per quart treatment is plenty.

Of course, Sea Foam won’t repair worn or mechanically damaged clutch components, but if oil residue or deposits are contributing to the problem, it can definitely help clean them up.
