Thanks for the question Kurt. Yes, adding Marine PRO to your Evinrude’s fuel tank will quickly dissolve the varnish from the carburetor and float. The more Marine PRO you add to less fuel will remove the varnish quicker. Just pour it in the fuel (you can add a whole 20 oz can to a gallon or two of fuel), run the engine for 10 or so minutes to pull the mixture through the carburetor circuits, then let it sit for a night or two to soak in the carburetor bowl. It will reliquefy the sticky varnish back into the liquid fuel phase and burn away in the chamber. Should be back to normal after 20 or so total minutes of engine operation. You’ll also have a lot of Marine PRO left in the fuel to continue cleaning as work through your next tank full of gas.
