Sea Foam in ultrasonic cleaner [SOLVED]
Could I use Sea Foam in an ultrasonic cleaner to really scrub/clean my 2-stroke outboard carburetor?
Thanks for the question, Steve.
Some people use Sea Foam in ultrasonic cleaners and claim that it works. However, we always recommend following the manufacturer’s recommendation for what to use in their cleaning machines.
Another idea: if you want to try cleaning the carb without removing it, you can use a high concentration of Marine PRO in a low amount of fuel (add a full can to 2-4 gallons of fuel and run the engine for at least 20 minutes). That works very well to remove varnish and deposits.
I have a diesel 5.9 Cummins engine with about 290,000 miles. I would like to do a comprehensive clean on it. What combination of products do you suggest. Thanks
Sea Foam Motor Treatment works great for a thorough cleaning in a diesel. I’d do the following:
– Add a cleaning dosage of Sea Foam Motor Treatment, two or three cans to a low tank of fuel (8-10 gallons) and drive until almost empty before refueling.
With Sea Foam in the fuel, clean fuel injectors with Sea Foam by priming a new or reused fuel filter with 100% Sea Foam Motor Treatment (this is a very popular application for diesel). Follow the instructions that Brian gives in the video link below.

– Add Sea Foam to oil, basic rule of thumb is one ounce of Sea Foam Motor Treatment per quart of engine oil and drive normally for 100-300 miles before performing a normal oil and filter change service.
