Using Sea Foam in a 2010 Hyundai Accent 1.6L [SOLVED]
Asked by Kevin Bruce B. In Ohio
2010 Hyundai Accent 1.6L had a clicking noise on cold start. I think lifter. (?) Added Sea Foam to oil. Quieted. How often can I add SF to oil? Will the SF burn off as it cleans. I have added a 16 oz can. Oil dipstick reads at full now (after 3 weeks). I do NOT want to overfill crankcase. Thx!
Hi Kevin. 1) You can (should!) add Sea Foam your Hyundai’s crankcase every oil interval to prevent harmful oil residue build up. 2) Sea Foam is 100% petroleum that will blend with your motor oil for the duration of the interval – it will not flash off or burn. 3) Adding 16 ounces is too much for your Hyundai. Adjust to half a can per interval. There is also no concern about overfilling when adding the correct amount. Hope this is helpful!
