Using Sea Foam Motor Treatment on a Ford Fusion EcoBoost motor [SOLVED]
Asked by Jason B. In Alabama
I have a 2016 Ford Fusion 1.5L EcoBoost motor. Wanting to know if using Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the fuel was OK for the turbo. Motor has 81k miles. I’ve never added anything to clean out the fuel system and don’t think I need to pay someone to do it, so looking at Sea Foam as a cleaning alternative.
Thank you for the question Jason. Using Sea Foam in your Fusion’s fuel tank and crankcase will help to keep your engine’s fuel and oil passageways clean. Another important product application to consider is to use Sea Foam Spray to clean your EcoBoost’s GDI (gasoline direct injection) intake valves and upper engine areas. All three of these applications are safe and won’t have any effect on a turbocharger. Sea Foam in fuel and Sea Foam Spray enter the upper engine (Sea Foam through fuel injectors, Sea Foam Spray from throttle body) and are exhausted out the chambers upon combustion, so there’s no treatment interaction with the turbo components on either side of the airstream (from intake air from filter to exhaust air to tailpipe). Can use with confidence!
