Using Sea Foam to treat a 2-Stroke engine with mixed gas and oil [SOLVED]
Asked by Joseph W. In Alabama
If just watched the Sea Foam ‘can & hose’ outboard treatment video. For my 2-stroke outboard do I still need mixed gas and oil in the can or straight gas with the Sea Foam?
Hi Joseph. Any 2-stroke engine that requires premixed fuel (older outboards, chainsaws, etc) should always have the oil mixed with the fuel before running through the engines. So yes, be sure to add 2-stroke oil to the can fuel before running the treatment mixture through the engine. Note that if a 2-stroke has a separate oil supply tank, oil is injected into the crank, so never a need to mix oil with fuel.
