Thanks for the question, Adam. Yes, if your motorcycle’s carburetor problems are being caused by fuel gum or varnish (which is very common), Sea Foam can definitely help.
Fuel gum and varnish is the #1 cause of carburetor-related issues like hard starting, rough idle, hesitation, stalling, and poor throttle response. Sea Foam works by liquefying and clearing away those sticky residues from the carburetor and fuel passages.
Here’s what I’d do:
- Add a high concentration of Sea Foam to a small amount of fresh fuel (up to about a 1:2 ratio of Sea Foam to fuel)
- Run the motorcycle for a few minutes to pull the treated fuel into the carburetor
- Shut it off and let it sit overnight
- Start it up the next day and take it for a ride. Run through as much of the treated fuel as possible to get the most out of it.
The high concentration works much better and faster than adding a small amount to a full tank.
Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
