Will Sea Foam Marine PRO remove water from fuel? [SOLVED]
Will Sea Foam Marine PRO remove water from marine fuel tank? If so, how much do you add?
Thanks for the question Gary. No treatment has the ability to remove water from fuel. If you have water contamination in your tank, it’s best to remove the fuel. If you think you have a small amount of water, try using isopropyl alcohol sold at auto parts locations. It works great to solubilize small amounts of water into the larger gasoline fuel phase, making it easier to burn the water through the engine. Hope this helps!
Can Sea Foam gas treatment be used along with an alcohol additive (like HEET) in the same gas?
The answer is yes, you can mix. They actually make a great combination! HEET in the red bottle is isopropyl alcohol, which is great for cleaning, adding volatility, and handling moisture in fuel. Because Sea Foam is petroleum, it is miscible with isopropyl, meaning they will both mix evenly in fuel. [Isopropyl does NOT share the same characteristics as ethyl alcohol, which is used for ethanol.]
Sea Foam will not help water in the tank like that. Your best bet is to drain the fuel tank and start over with fresh fuel.
Yes – when added to your fuel tank, Sea Foam works great to clean and lubricate critical engine areas, which helps your engine run better and last longer. You can find lots more information (and how-to info) on the product page below:
