“This is a 2004 Kia Spectra with the 1.8L 4-cyl engine purchased at an auto auction as a ‘donated vehicle with mechanical issues’…. After the Kia was unloaded from the transporter, we jump-started the battery…at that point we were able to hear the horrible-sounding engine. The engine had a severe clack/tick and was running VERY rough. Most would say, “This vehicle is junk” and just cut their losses. I poured half a can into the crankcase and let it idle for about 20 minutes, went back to check on it, and the engine was running smooth and quiet!
