HOW TO USE TRANS TUNE
IN POWER STEERING FLUID SYSTEMS
BENEFITS
DIRECTIONS
SUMMARY
Trans Tune will help smooth out hard steering and quiet a noisy steering pump. Trans Tune is safe for use in all petroleum-based power steering fluid systems and does NOT contain harsh detergent or abrasive chemicals that can harm your fluid system.
As a fluid pre-flush and full system flush treatment, Trans Tune will dissolve and clean sticky varnish residues from power steering systems. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions when flushing a steering system.
As a fluid conditioner, add Trans Tune to the steering fluid reservoir to clean and condition system parts for the life of the fluid. Trans Tune can be used to overcome hard steering and noisy steering pumps caused by varnish deposits in pumps, gears and pressure valves.
Every petroleum fluid system is prone to erratic and rough performance caused by gum, varnish, and moisture. Trans Tune works fast to dissolve harmful deposits and control the moisture that impairs fluid systems. Help your fluid system work better and last longer!

RELATED QUESTIONS
Ok first off I use seafoam engine and trans all the time at my job. That’s said I was wondering about the use of this in electronically controlled transmission? They do have shift solenoids so I see why I can’t. Better safe than sorry I guess.
Thanks for the question! Yes, Sea Foam Trans Tune is compatible with all automatic transmission applications, specifically your electronically controlled automatic transmission (most transmissions built in the last 30 years are electronically controlled). Sea Foam Trans Tune is made from 100% highly refined petroleum products and does not contain any harsh chemicals or cleaners. Trans Tune is compatible with all petroleum-derived transmission fluids.
Can Trans Tune be used in a tractor with hydraulic wet brake system?
I own a 2013 Ford Edge and had a transmission fluid drain and replace a couple months ago, now my car is jerking a bit when changing gears during acceleration and deceleration. There are no warning or engine lights coming on. Will the Trans Tune help with that? It was all working fine with no jerking before the fluid change.
Good question, Brian. If the rough performance is caused by residue in the transmission system, Trans Tune will help clear it up. Just pour a full can of Trans Tune into the transmission fluid reservoir and then drive it for 50-100 miles. Even if it doesn’t help, it’s a low-cost way to diagnose a problem as you’ll know it’s not a varnish issue if it doesn’t clear things up.
I own a 2005 Scion XB. I just went over 190,000 miles. It’s a manual transmission. What’s your recommendation?
Your 2005 Scion xB uses 75W-90 GL-4 or GL-5 gear lube in the manual transmission and only holds 2 quarts of fluid. I’d recommend using 2-3 ounces of Sea Foam Motor Treatment or High Mileage to clean the internal components of that manual transmission.
If you are using Sea Foam for cleaning purposes before you change the fluid, add the 2-3 ounces of Sea Foam to the manual transmission, drive for 30-50 miles, and change the fluid. When adding new fluid, you can add another 2-3 ounces of Sea Foam.
If you are using Sea Foam for preventative maintenance, just add 2-3 ounces of Sea Foam and drive your vehicle like normal. Then follow Scion’s recommended maintenance schedule for future fluid changes.
Will Sea Foam work on 2020 Transit Connect?
Yes, Sea Foam Motor Treatment is safe and effective in your 2020 Transit Connect.
Here’s a quick overview of what you could do with different Sea Foam products:
- Sea Foam Spray through the intake. Here’s a video with the EcoBoost and Sea Foam Spray. More instructions can be found here. [note for others – Sea Foam Spray is for gasoline engines only. Not for diesel.]
- Sea Foam Motor Treatment in your gas tank. Wait until you’ve got a low tank (1/8 or less). Then add a full can of Sea Foam, and drive until almost empty before refueling. That will do a great job cleaning up the fuel system and critical engine areas.
- Sea Foam Motor Treatment in oil. Add 1 oz per quart of oil 100-300 miles before your next oil change.
- Trans Tune in the transmission fluid. More info here.
