Sea Foam for a cylinder misfire due to carbon [SOLVED]
I have a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer 6 cylinder and have been told that I have a cylinder misfiring due to carbon buildup ( 50 lbs less compression). Where would it be better to add Sea Foam – Sea Foam Spray through the intake, or Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the fuel? Has less than 90,000 miles. Thanks in advance.
Good question, Ron.
Where is the carbon build up? (Valve…rings, etc?).
For a cylinder misfire like that, I would recommend throwing the whole Sea Foam playbook at it – a Sea Foam Spray treatment through the intake, Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the fuel (add a full can to a low tank of fuel), and Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the crankcase (add 1 oz of Sea Foam per quart of oil).
You can always start with the Sea Foam Spray treatment, or Sea Foam Motor Treatment in the fuel, and see if that’s all that is needed before doing the rest.
Hope that helps!
