Using Sea Foam to clean an E 350 Ford V10 engine with old fuel [SOLVED]
Asked by Daryl D. In Alabama
I have an E 350 Ford V10 that has been sitting for 3 years. I’ve been told I have to drain all gas, change oil, blow out gas lines, etc before I start it. A mechanic from the midwest told me that your fuel product is all I need. I don’t want to ruin anything. What do you think?
That’s a great question Daryl. What I would do: I would run the truck as normal and add 5 gallons of fresh fuel once you’ve driven 60 drive miles or so. The fresh fuel will introduce new ignition vapor, which is the key to volatility. When the tank gets low, add 2 cans of Sea Foam to the tank and drive at least 20 miles on the higher cleaning concentration before filling the tank. The Sea Foam in the fuel will continue to work as you go. At some point early on I would change the motor oil and check the fuel filter.
